Cairn Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
Cairn: Words to Keep is made by Jared Apperson. This policy is short because there's little to say: Cairn doesn't collect anything about you.
What Cairn keeps, and where
Your name (for the morning greeting), your chosen categories and tone, your reminder times, your favorites, and the quotes you write or save all stay on your iPhone. They're shared only with Cairn's own widgets and share extension on the same device. Nothing is sent to me or to anyone else.
Sharing a quote
When you share a quote, Cairn makes a link with the quote written into it, after a # mark. Browsers never send that part of a link to a server, so the quote isn't seen by wordstokeep.app or anyone in between. It goes only where you send it. If you've set a name in Cairn, the link includes it so the person knows who it's from. When a quote is shared with you, Cairn shows it and saves nothing until you tap Add.
No internet, no accounts
Cairn never connects to the internet. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party code.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. There's no server sending them.
Tidy up
Tidy up uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone to fix capitalization and punctuation. Your quote never leaves the device.
Your choices
You can change or delete anything in the app. Deleting Cairn removes everything it stored.
Children
Cairn collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
